The Value of Hiring an Architect for Construction Administration Services
December 1, 2022Happy November Everyone! To me Halloween kicks off the holiday winter season and in the construction world it’s the beginning of slowing down projects, mostly those with exterior work, especially those with concrete until the warmer weather in the spring. With that said, this is actually the perfect timing to begin to engage an Architect for any projects you may want to have completed in the summer/fall of 2023. Why do you ask? Well, it takes time to draft up the construction drawings and get the permits approved in time for the beginning of spring.
With that said, I’ve been wanting to provide more educational content on the stages of a construction project to inform clients what to expect in timing and what is needed throughout the process from start to finish. A blog to me is not enough to do this, therefore I wrote a booklet called “The Various Stages of A Construction Project: From Start to Finish.” You can read it for free under my Products page, or via this link for English and via this link for Spanish.
The booklet provides information on the main stages and sub-stages that most projects include. Furthermore, each sub-stage provides summary of what it is, who is involved in that sub-stage and estimated timeframes. This is not an instructional guide on how to run a project, but for better understanding of what one is getting into when starting a construction project, whether it is a small home renovation or a ground up new multi-story commercial building.
Please feel free to reach out and let me know if you found this informative and share among family/friends/co-workers, etc. In the future I look forward to provide more in-depth information via a short course or another lengthier booklet.
If you’re looking to do a project for 2023 please feel free to call, email or fill out my questionnaire to begin to discuss your project and see if it is best to begin the drawing process soon. Currently, Rooted Architecture Studio is booked to mid-December, but if you want to begin drawings this winter an initial meeting would be great to be conducted in November/December to hold your spot.
Keep growing,
Katherine Serrano Sosa
